Kenai 2006

The Kenai Peninsula

Kenai Fjords National Park

The Kenai Peninsula juts generally southward from Anchorage. It has mountains, rivers, glaciers - everything that the rest of Alaska has, and is far more accessible. While none of it is as big - they call it Alaska in Miniature - miniature Alaska is still bigger than most everything else in the lower 48.

This visit to Kenai wasa three-day warm-up and starter for this trip. I had a rented car and drove down to Seward, where I visited Kenai Fjords National Park while camping in a car campground near the entrance. I also did a few small hikes outside of Seward.

Turnagain Arm - a bay that partly separates Anchorage from the peninsula.
